(Admission form can be submitted before the declaration of H.S. Result. However, all the testimonials including the mark sheet and caste certificate should be deposited at the earliest on or before 30th May, 2014).
ISSUE OF PROSPECTUS AND FORM:
Prospectus and Admission Forms are available in the office of the Gauhati University Publication Department (GUPD), from 12th May 2014 to 30th May, 2014 on payment of Rs. 400.00 (250.00 for Prospectus + Rs. 150.00 for Entrance Test) in the University Cash Counter or through an SBI Bank Draft in favour of 'Registrar, Gauhati University' payable at SBI, G.U. Branch. The admission form and prospectus may also be downloaded from the Gauhati University website, www.gauhati.ac.in and in such a case, Demand Draft of Rs. 400 in favour of 'Registrar Gauhati University' payable at S.B.I. Gauhati University Branch has to be deposited along with the Admission Form.
Prospectus and Admission Forms are also available in the Department of Commerce on deposit of the Bank Draft of Rs. 400/- (No cash will be accepted).
Candidates who have passed the H.S. (10 +2) Examination in the year 2013 and 2014 are only eligible to apply. For admission into the 1st Semester Course a candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination recognised by the Gauhati University securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
The admission into the Five Year Integrated M.Com Course is based on the merit list prepared by giving 60% weightage of the percentage of marks obtained in the H.S. or equivalent examination (Best of four subjects)** and 40% of the marks obtained in the entrance test.
Example : X has secured 80% in the H.S. (10+2) Examination and 55% in the Entrance Test; his/her total marks for preparing the merit list will be (60% of 80 + 40% of 55) = 70.
**The percentage of marks in the H.S Examination will be calculated on the basis of the best four subjects, which will be considered as follows :
- English or ANY ONE language paper or Alternative English.
- Three best elective subjects in the qualifying examination with the CONDITION

Entrance Test :
Candidates shall have to appear for an entrance test to be conducted by the Department. Entrance test will be of 1 hour duration. Total marks for the test will be 100 and the Test will comprise of (i) multiple choice objective type questions on General English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude including Mathematics, Test of Reasoning and (ii) Paragraph Writing.

Reservation of Seats :
The candidates seeking admission on reserved quota viz. SC/ST/OBC & MOBC shall be given relaxation up to 5% (five percent) of the marks prescribed for eligibility criteria. The relaxation will not be applicable to candidates seeking admission on any other reserved quota.

Course Fee :
1st Semester Rs. 18,000/- + Library Fee: Rs. 2,000/- = Rs. 20,000/-;
2nd Semester onwards Rs. 18,000/- per semester.
Candidates selected for admission shall pay the admission fee of Rs. 20,000.00 through an SBI Bank Draft in favour of Registrar, Gauhati University payable at SBI, G.U. Branch on the date of admission. The selected candidates are requested to come on the date of admission along with the bank draft of Rs. 20,000.00.
Fee once paid is not refunded.
Note :
- University Registration Fee and Examination Fee shall have to be paid separately.
- Students shall have to bear the cost of Identity Card for studentship and necessary dues to the Central Library.
